THE
VIGIL
The
moon peeked
through the strands
of hair
that clung
loosely to the sun.
she brushed 'em aside
and covered the land
with her blue veil.
Silently
her brothers and sisters
joined her on the watch
a vigil perhaps.
A
blue racer
roared through
the streets
chasing its shadow
as the cat sat
on iIts haunches
watching,
waiting.
The
moon smiled,
petted the cat,
and walked away,
